Hugin
VerdictSock-puppet ring, founder-story astroturf

Suspicious.

OP's post is well-written and emotionally resonant, but structural signals show a coordinated comment section: three accounts (TrafficAcademySEO, KenBuildsSoftware, amootiranian) with reactivation patterns, overlapping founder-story posting histories across the same micro_saas/SaaS subreddits, and suspicious dormancy+reactivation timing. The comments appear designed to validate and normalize the post's narrative rather than engage authentically.

Decision path

Hugin marked this suspicious because at least one meaningful risk signal appeared, but the scan did not reach the stronger likely-scam threshold.

  1. The final verdict text came from the AI verdict engine using the stored structural signal block.
  2. The scan reviewed 3 comments and 3 unique commenter accounts.
  3. Signal count: 3 high, 0 medium, 0 low flags; 2 coordination-class signals.
2 aged accounts reactivated to comment here

An account that sat silent for months and then suddenly wakes up to praise a promotional post is almost always a sold or recovered handle being weaponised for credibility.

What pushed risk up

riskHIGH flag: 2 aged accounts reactivated to comment here

An account that sat silent for months and then suddenly wakes up to praise a promotional post is almost always a sold or recovered handle being weaponised for credibility.

riskHIGH flag: 1 cross-subreddit promotional drop

Posting the exact same link in 2+ different subreddits is the textbook fingerprint of an affiliate or marketing operator — not someone organically sharing a discovery.

riskHIGH flag: 2 accounts show serial founder-story posting

What kept the rating lower

cleanNo young-account swarm

Hugin did not find a <7d-old commenter cluster among 3 scanned authors.

cleanNo reply ring detected

Hugin mapped 3 reply edges and did not find a mutual-reply clique.

cleanStylometry pass was clean

The writing-style comparison ran and did not surface same-hand pairs.

Limitations
  • 4 author age values are a lower-bound estimate from oldest archived public activity, not an official Reddit account-created timestamp.
  • Username shape alone is never treated as a finding; it is only context when stronger public signals also appear.
Rating thresholds
  • Likely scam: multiple high-severity signals, prior identifier reuse, or several coordination signals stacking together.
  • Suspicious: one high-severity signal, multiple medium signals, or one concrete coordination signal that deserves review.
  • Inconclusive: weak, conflicting, or partial signals where the scan cannot justify either trust or a stronger warning.
  • Looks legitimate: no structural red flags, available metadata, and clean coordination passes.

Values lens

What the post is doing

  • u/TrafficAcademySEO and u/KenBuildsSoftware both show 295d+ dormancy followed by recent reactivation (14 and 1 items in last 24h respectively)
  • All three commenters (TrafficAcademySEO, KenBuildsSoftware, amootiranian) post serial founder-story content across overlapping subreddits (r/micro_saas, r/SaaS, r/SideProject)
  • u/amootiranian shows extreme dormancy (2565d) followed by recent activity spike, with repeated image URLs across multiple subreddits suggesting cross-posted content
  • Comment 1 and Comment 2 are structurally similar: both directly validate OP's implicit concern (that the product lacks 'real' value) by reframing it positively—a pattern consistent with scripted suppo
  • All three comments score 0 and appear within 1.5 hours of posting, with no follow-up engagement, consistent with a coordinated upvote/comment seeding attempt

Who replied to whom in the scanned comments. Organic threads branch out from the post; accounts that reply back and forth to each other or hub around one shared identifier are the structural fingerprints of a coordinated pod. This shows the most significant pattern found, not every commenter.

Post body — by u/notomarsol
I need to say this somewhere because I can't say it to people I know without sounding like I'm bragging, and I promise this is not that. I started keeping a spreadsheet of business ideas about three years ago. It wasn't a product, it was just me being unable to sleep. I'd read Reddit threads where someone described a problem at their job, some boring specific thing like how their team tracks invoices in four different places, and I'd write it down. I did that for around a year. Nobody asked me to. I wasn't building anything with them. I just liked collecting them. Eventually I put them on a website because that felt like the thing you do. I thought maybe someone would find it useful. It made nothing for a very long time. Almost two years of nothing. Not "slow growth," nothing. I'd check the dashboard and there'd be four visitors and two of them were me on my phone. I told my friends and family it was a hobby so it wouldn't feel like a failure. I rewrote the homepage probably nine times. I'd go weeks without touching it and then feel guilty and go add three more ideas at 1am. At some point I got tired of doing the reading by hand so I wrote a script. It pulls threads where people describe problems at work, and a model scores them for how strong the opportunity looks. It's scored 1,416 threads from 672 subreddits now. But it only flags them. I still read the good ones myself, check if anyone's searching for it, check who's already making money nearby, and write the thing up. That part never got automated because I don't trust it to. Then people started buying. $129, one payment, you get all of it. About $13k in the last couple months. And I cant explain it. thats the part I keep getting stuck on. there is no secret in this product, none, you could do the exact same thing with reddit search and a notes app, I KNOW you could because that is literally what I did for a year with no script and no website and no money. theres nothing clever in here. I didnt invent anything. and people are handing me $129 anyway (I know how this sounds. I'm not fishing. I think I'm just scared) I think the honest answer is that people pay so they don't have to do the boring part. Which is fine, that's a real reason. But it means the whole thing rests on me being willing to keep doing the boring part, and some weeks I open the dashboard and feel like I got away with something and it's going to get taken back. anyway if you've had something sit at zero for two years, that's the whole reason I posted. keep going :)

  • I don’t think people are paying $129 for access to information they couldn’t find themselves. They’re paying because you already did the annoying work: filtering hundreds of weak ideas, checking demand, analyzing competitors, and deciding which ones are worth paying attention to. That judgment is probably the real product. The fact that someone could do it manually doesn’t make it any less valuable.
  • People pay for savings on their time if they see value. If they say my time is for example $25 a hour and they think it would take say 10 hrs to do then their cost of their time is $250. So $129.00 is a deal!!
