FCC adopts captioning filing exemptions for program suppliers, with start date delayed
An FCC final rule published October 26 adopts exemptions that, once effective, would let qualifying program suppliers rely on channel or network registrations and certifications. It does not remove their underlying captioning duties. November 25 is the general effective date, but the provisions creating the filing exemptions are delayed indefinitely while required information-collection review is completed.
