    The U.S. Copyright Office is asking the public about music streaming fraud, including bots, click farms and misattributed uploads, with written comments due November 23 and replies due December 21.

    The Copyright Office published a notice of inquiry October 7 asking the public about music streaming fraud, after a May 21, 2026 letter from Representative Scott Fitzgerald of the Committee on the Judiciary. The notice describes bot farms, click farms, playlist stuffing and uploads that claim someone else's work, and poses ten questions, including fraud's ties to AI-generated music. Written comments are due November 23, 2026; reply comments, December 21. It proposes no rule and binds no one; anyone may comment through regulations.gov.
