FTC, joined by Nevada and Utah, sues Lens.com, alleging hidden 'Taxes & fees' routinely doubled advertised contact lens prices
The FTC, joined by the states of Nevada and Utah, sued Lens.com Inc., Speed Commerce LLC and Cary Samourkachian, named as the sole owner of both, October 2 in Nevada federal court. The complaint alleges Lens.com advertised low per-box prices in Google ads and on its site, then added a hidden, mandatory 'Taxes & fees' charge at checkout; in one example the complaint cites, a $146.32 advertised order became a $649.71 charge. Lens.com's response is not in the documents reviewed.
