Learning Care Group paid a $50,000 civil penalty and $12,000 to an individual complainant to resolve allegations that a Chesapeake daycare refused afterschool enrollment because a child used a wheelchair. The Justice Department announced the resolution October 21. It says the company agreed to additional remedies but does not identify them, so the release does not establish what enrollment or policy changes families can expect.
