FTC sues GovAssist and Entry over alleged government impersonation in passport services
The FTC alleges GovAssist, Entry and their owner used search ads, passport websites and fabricated reviews to make travelers believe they were dealing with the federal government. Its October 22 complaint says the operation collected at least $40 million from more than 300,000 consumers in the preceding three years. The agency seeks an injunction and consumer relief; the complaint is an allegation, not a court ruling or an announced refund program.
