Executive order tells federal agencies to use 'Super Intelligence' in place of 'artificial intelligence' and 'AI,' and calls for a proposed legal definition within 60 days
Executive Order 14434, 'Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence,' went on public inspection October 1 and is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register October 2. Dated September 29, it directs agencies to use 'Super Intelligence' and 'SI' in place of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI' in non-statutory documents, to the maximum extent the law permits, and ties both terms to the artificial-intelligence definition already in 15 U.S.C. 9401(3). Within 60 days, the President's science and technology adviser must propose legislative language for a new definition.
