    Mistral AI · Retirement

    Z.ai GLM 5.2 (zai-glm-5-2), a third-party model served through Mistral's API, is retired

Moves to: Z.ai GLM 5.3 (zai-glm-5-3): 'Use Z.ai GLM 5.3 (zai-glm-5-3) instead, at the same price.' in the changelog, and the Alternative column of the models page's deprecated table.

Mistral's schedule for its own API only; Z.ai's own platform is not covered. Announced September 29, the day after GLM 5.3 became generally available on Mistral, with a month's notice. 'At the same price' is Mistral's statement, not checked against its pricing page, and this desk holds no Mistral key and cannot test whether requests fail.

    Mistral AI · Retirement

The free Labs model Leanstral 1.5 (labs-leanstral-1-5) is retired from Mistral's API

Nothing to move to. Neither announcement names a replacement: not the June 30 release line, and not the September 29 changelog entry that deprecates it, though the OCR 4.0 and Z.ai GLM 5.2 entries beside it each name one. Mistral's models page now lists Leanstral 1.5 in its deprecated table (deprecated 9/29/2026, retired 9/30/2026) with the Alternative column empty. The Labs model before it, labs-leanstral-2603, was retired on June 30 with Leanstral 1.5 as its alternative; nothing points past this one.

First stated in a release-day changelog line, 'This model will be retired on September 30, 2026.', while the models page listed it as current. On September 29 Mistral confirmed the date: a changelog entry calls it 'an experimental Labs model' that 'is deprecated and retires on September 30, 2026', and the models page's deprecated table gives the same day — one day after the deprecation date it lists. A free preview model; nothing here is a price.

Only dates a provider has published — nothing inferred, nothing from rumour. Every row is backed by a source anchor in the case files, and shows what this desk’s own re-read of the provider’s page last found.

The government board below it is a separate list with a separate rule: a duty a government body published in its own document, cited to the Federal Register document number and the sentence it rests on. Those dates are not in the calendar feed or the provider API yet.
