August 3: three Anthropic windows are running, and every one has an end date.

Two days before the first of them expires, the desk files the three dated Anthropic terms currently in force — doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5, the 50% Claude Code weekly-limit boost through August 19, and Sonnet 5's introductory API pricing through August 31 — each from the provider's own record. A dated window is the opposite of a surprise reset. You can put it on a calendar before it happens, and check it after. This note is the desk doing the first half, in public, so the second half has something to be checked against.

The last two daily notes were about capacity generosity with no calendar: forty discretionary usage-limit resets, each announced after the fact, none carrying an end date or a next date. Today's note is about the other shape — the one where the provider writes the date down.

As of this morning, three Anthropic terms are in force that each carry a published end date. The first expires in two days. The desk is filing all three now, before any of them lapses, because a window filed after it closes is just a memory with a citation.

Window one: doubled Cowork limits, through August 5

On July 7, Anthropic's Cowork web and mobile launch post said, in its own words: "To mark the launch, we're extending doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5." That is the whole receipt — a factor, a product, and a date, published under the provider's masthead.

August 5 is Wednesday. What happens to a Cowork session's real allowance on Thursday is exactly the kind of thing this desk can check, and will.

Window two: Claude Code weekly limits +50%, through August 19

This one has a history, and the history is the interesting part.

On May 13, the official @ClaudeDevs account posted: "Claude Code weekly limits are increasing 50%, now through July 13. Live now for all Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise users." On July 18 — five days after that stated end — the same account posted: "We're also keeping Claude Code weekly limits 50% higher, now through August 19, for all Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise users." Both dates are derived from the posts' own status ids, the same decoding used for the August 1 reset ledger.

Read the two posts together and there is a five-day hole. The visible provider record says "through July 13," then says "keeping ... now through August 19" on July 18, and nothing provider-authored in between says what the terms were across those five days. Third-party coverage reports an interim extension to July 19. That is probably right, and it stays at coverage tier — the desk files the gap as a gap, not as a fact it happens to find plausible.

The pattern the provider record does support: a dated boost that has now been renewed at or past its own deadline at least once. "Through August 19" describes the current term. It is not a prediction that the boost dies on August 19 — the last stated end date didn't hold either, in the generous direction.

Window three: Sonnet 5 introductory pricing, through August 31

Anthropic's pricing documentation carries the most precise language of the three: "Introductory pricing of $2/$10 per million input/output tokens is in effect through August 31, 2026, after which the standard pricing of $3/$15 per million input/output tokens will take effect." The batch tier steps the same way, $1/$5 to $1.50/$7.50.

Unlike the other two windows, this one ends in a published number, not an open question — the page already states both sides of September 1. What remains checkable is only whether the page does what it says on the day. That check is nearly free, and it is already armed: the desk's source ledger fingerprints the visible text of every cited record, so the September 1 language flip will register as measured drift on a page Hugin already watches, whether or not anyone is looking that morning.

Why dates deserve their own note

A discretionary reset and a dated window can both be generosity. The difference is evidentiary. A reset can only be counted after it happens — that is what the August 1 ledger is. A dated window can be put on a calendar before anything happens, which means the desk can commit, in public, to what it will check and when:

  • August 6: did doubled Cowork limits lapse, extend, or pass without a record?
  • August 20: same question for the Claude Code boost — which has lapsed quietly past a stated end date once already.
  • September 1: does the pricing page carry the $3/$15 standard language it promised, with the drift ledger as the instrument?

One more receipt keeps the two shapes from sounding like a provider personality test. On June 20 — decoded from its status id, mid-way through the Fable 5 suspension this desk filed yesterday — @ClaudeDevs posted: "Update: we've gone ahead and reset 5-hour and weekly usage limits for everyone, across all plans. Enjoy your weekend!" Anthropic does discretionary resets too. The shapes are practices, not brands, and each one gets filed as what it is: a reset when it is a reset, a window when there is a date.

Case-file update

The AI Release Receipts Accountability File adds the Cowork launch record, the July 18 weekly-limit renewal, the June 20 all-plans reset receipt, and the dated Sonnet 5 pricing language as source anchors, alongside the May 13 window record it already held.
