Lithonia Lighting is recalling about 11,532 RSX outdoor luminaires with specified adjustable tilt-arm mounts because the mounting knuckle can fail and let the light fall. CPSC says consumers should keep clear of the area directly beneath the light and contact Lithonia for a free repair.
The mounts identify the recall
The October 22 notice covers RSX luminaires with AASP, AARP, AAWB and AAWSC adjustable tilt-arm mountings used for commercial outdoor lighting. These arms mount the fixture to a square pole, round pole, wall bracket or wall bracket with surface-mount conduit.
The affected adjustable mounting arms were manufactured from August 2019 through July 2020 and from August 2024 through April 2026. They allow the fixture to tilt from zero to 90 degrees above horizontal.
Consumers should contact Lithonia to confirm whether their fixture and adjustable mounting arm are included. The notice does not describe every RSX fixture as recalled.
A professional will replace the assembly
CPSC directs consumers to contact Lithonia to schedule the free repair. Lithonia will arrange for a qualified professional to replace the recalled tilt-arm mount with a new, complete adjustable arm assembly.
The listed phone number is 855-307-2454, available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday. The notice also points consumers to the Recalls link at the bottom of Lithonia's website.
This is a repair recall. The stated remedy is replacement of the mount assembly by a professional, rather than a consumer refund.
Breakage reports and sales dates
The firm has received 13 reports of adjustable tilt-arm mountings breaking. There have been four reports of fixtures falling. No injuries have been reported. The notice identifies a risk of serious injury from impact; it does not give a failure rate.
The lights were sold through commercial distributors nationwide, including Turtle Hughes and Consolidated Electrical Distributors, from August 2019 through August 2026 for $400 to $2,200. Lithonia Lighting, of Atlanta, is the listed manufacturer; the products were manufactured in the United States and Mexico. The recall number is 27-041.
