DREO is recalling about 338,800 model DR-HSH015 space heaters because they can overheat and ignite. The October 29 CPSC notice says the company has received 17 reports of heaters igniting, including three that resulted in property damage and one involving a burn injury to a hand.

Check the model and manufacture date

Only DR-HSH015 units manufactured from April 2025 through January 2026 are included. The model number and manufacture date, written in year/month format, are on a label on the underside.

The recalled units are black ceramic electric heaters, about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall, with a remote control. DREO appears on the front. The model and date restriction matter: the notice does not recall every heater carrying the brand.

Another approximately 36,300 affected units were sold in Canada. CPSC identifies the importer as Hesung Innovation Corp., doing business as DREO, of Clifton, New Jersey, and says the heaters were manufactured in Vietnam.

Where they were sold

The heaters were sold at Costco stores nationwide and online through DREO, Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, QVC, Home Depot, B2BRenew and Costco. The sales period was September 2025 through October 2026, at prices between $70 and $110.

The sales period and manufacture dates are different fields. Owners should use the underside label to check the manufacture window specified in the recall.

Stop use and arrange replacement

CPSC says consumers should stop using recalled heaters immediately and contact DREO for a free replacement.

The notice says consumers will be asked to unplug the heater, destroy it by cutting its electrical cord, and follow instructions to send a photograph of the destroyed unit. Unplugging comes before cutting the cord in those instructions.

DREO's toll-free recall line is 833-820-0887, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday. The CPSC page also supplies email and online recall routes. The announced remedy is replacement, not a stated refund offer.
