OpenAI's DevDay recap introduces Pro 500 at $500 per month, with an allowance described as 25 times Plus. Its Pro help page says eligible existing Pro 200 subscribers retain their previous allowance through October 29, 2026, provided the subscription stays active. After the transition, the allowance decreases while the $200 price remains.
Our operator reports that their notice describes the $200 change as 20× to 10×. The public help article reviewed confirms a reduction but does not state those two multipliers. Readers should check their own account notice for eligibility and terms.
What “up to 8× faster” measures
The launch describes Astra Ultrafast as up to eight times faster token generation in Codex, reaching 300 tokens per second. It is not a claim that every complete job finishes eight times faster. Tool calls, builds and review still take time.
Ultrafast is available in Work and Codex on Pro 500 and Enterprise. Purchasing credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock that speed tier, according to the help page.
