Costway is recalling about 3,332 convertible high chairs because they lack a passive restraint system. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says a child can slip through the opening between the feeding tray and seat, become entrapped or fall, risking serious injury or death.

The recall notice is dated October 22. It lists no reported incidents or injuries.

Which chairs are covered

The chairs convert into a table and chair set. The notice identifies several color combinations: purple and white, red and white, blue and white, and brown and white. CPSC's source page includes photographs of the recalled chairs in those combinations.

There is no tracking information on the products, according to the notice. Its description and product photographs provide the identification details; it does not offer a model number or date code for owners to check.

The chairs were sold at Walmart and Target stores nationwide and online at Costway's website from May 2023 through July 2026, for between $84 and $100. The notice identifies the retailer as Goplus Corporation, doing business as Costway, of Fontana, California, and says the chairs were manufactured in China.

How the replacement works

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chairs and contact Costway for a free replacement high chair, the notice says.

Costway will ask for a receipt or a photograph of the product. It will then provide a prepaid label for returning the recalled chair. The replacement ships free of charge after Costway receives the returned product. The announced remedy is a replacement, rather than a refund.

The notice lists Costway's toll-free number as 844-242-1885, available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday, and its recall email as recall@costway.com.
